IMED Valencia creates more than 70.000 clinical histories on its anniversary

  • After 12 months since its opening, IMED Valencia hospital turned into a reference hospital in private health, because of its volume and also because of the care quality offered.
  • The emergency service is one of the most outstanding, with more than 61.000 cases in this first year of activity, with a waiting time under 20 minutes.

Valencia, 01-03-18. The private Hospital IMED Valencia makes its first year of activity. It belongs to the group IMED Hospitals, that began its assistance activity in Valencia in the end of February last year and since then it has more than 70.000 new clinical histories. Its Managing director, Pedro Tomás, said “we are very satisfied with the effort of all the team and the results that we had in this first year, but we have a big responsibility to keep high quality standards”.

“The Hospital IMED Valencia it’s been designed as a general hospital, in which we have all services and specialties that the patient need on the same space”, emphasizes Tomás. Nevertheless, there are some areas of the hospital that in just one year provided important prestige as it is pediatrics service, orthopedics, cardiology, obstetrics or the outstanding incorporation of robotic surgery in the Valencian Community. “We are a general hospital, that doesn’t forget to provide specialised and personalized health, as our patients ask for” highlights the managing director of the center.

The staff also grew as the activity progressive increase. On the first moment the staff was around 300 people, now we have more than 360 workers, from those 90 are of the medical area. We want to highlight also that, thanks to the open model of the hospital, apart from the doctors working in, now there are a hundred of external doctors that collaborate with the hospital and they use the facilities and technological means.

During this first year there were more than 170.000 outpatients’ consultations and more than 7.000 surgical interventions had been performed among all specialties of the center.

Emergencies

The emergency service is one of the main backbones of IMED Valencia. With its own access 24 hours, had more than 61.000 cases in emergency this first year of activity, from those approximately 40% were pediatric emergencies.

Among the facilities of the service, we want to stand out the assistance of pediatric emergencies, that have a separated space different from the general emergencies, and the specialised pediatrician is 24 hours 7 days of the week.

According to Pedro Tomás, Managing director of IMED Valencia Hospital, “our emergency service is established thanks to two different main factors. On one hand, because of the assistance that our emergency medical team offer that work with other services and specialties; and on the second hand, because of the fast solution of the cases. Our service has less than 20 minutes waiting time since the patient come into emergencies till he is called out”.

Among the services that we offer, we highlight also the online access to the clinical history through the own IMED system, that allows to access in real time to all previous medical information, so the patient doesn’t have to repeat tests and allows a faster diagnosis.

Hospitalization

IMED Valencia has 185 individual rooms – which 22 of them are suites -, that have sofa bed for partners, full bathroom with shower access without barriers, TV, multimedia screen with articulated arm next to the bed with internet access and social networks, video calls, TV and cinema, just to point out some of the multiple functions. With this technology and a first level comfort, IMED Valencia Hospital had more than 8.000 inpatients during its first activity year, with 2,5 days rate for each inpatient.

Insurance companies

With these figures, IMED Valencia Hospital settled in Burjassot, near the convention center and just in front of the commercial park Alban, became in one year a reference center of private medicine in Valencia. Agreements reached between IMED and the main insurance companies made possible the access to the center services for almost everyone that have a medical insurance. “We want to continue rising the private health level in Valencia. It was one of our objectives a year ago and nowadays it continues to be. Thanks to the effort made by all the team we reached in a year the goals that we wanted, but even today we have a long way to go. Our objective is to continue growing, but also to keep always the highest quality level on the service that we provide to our patients”.
